Telepong makes Steve happy

Last weekend, I went garage sale hopping and walked away with oodles of fetch records, and a lovely little thing called Pong. My records were actually good records! I got a few Black Sabbath, a Steve Martin, some Monty Python, Rocky Horror soundtrack, Rolling Stones, and some old classics like "Rock and Roll Hoochie Koo," "Electric Avenue" and "Pass the Dutchie." All of these records could not even match my happiness of finding a copy of Pink Floyd's "The Wall." The record had no scratches or pops. Just pure Roger Waters goodness!!!! I also picked up a copy of Tennessee Williams "A Streetcar Named Desire," and Anne Rice's "Interview with the Vampire."

But one box cast a shadow over all of these treasures. That shadow consisted of a line, two rectangles, and a ball. Telepong had found a new home. For 2 bucks, I was taken back to a land before RPGs, sprites, or co-axial cable. After 3 hours of play, I already rival the unbeatable computer at top speed, and can keep a game going for about 10 minutes.

Yes the game is primitive, but you've got to master the classics! It's like studying Newton before jumping into Quantum Physics. Before you can beat the AI of today, you've got to know where it began. Telepong has been welcomed into my room, to keep my bottomless LazyBoy, Electraglobe and traffic lights company. Here Here!!!
