The mindless rantings of a filmaholic.
The Einstein of Knife Design.

It is only in the wee hours of the morning that a person can truly peer into their soul, and see just how screwed up they are. I have now diagnosed myself as, no longer being a FADDS - Frequent Attention Deficit Disorder Sufferer, but a “ Media Junkie.” Films, TV, Music, I need it all.
I discovered this after I thought about my dependancy on music. While I was thinking about this I realized that I was watching the same damn Informercial for those fancy knives. I can vividly remember the Rock and Chop and it’s amazing air-release grooves, yet I continue to watch. I eventually become disgusted with myself, and what did I do? I changed the channel, and found salvation elsewhere in the form of a Kylie Minogue bio on Muchmoremusic. So enough I say! It’s time for a revolution. There’s too much TV in my life, and with all this spare time coming up, I think I’m going to try and set a new personal best for most movies watched in a month. Maybe I’ll do that in March or April, once all this University crap can be settled. This weekend however, I study my ass off for exams. I only have two, but one’s a big ol’ ass-rammer, and in light of my recent discovery, I’ve decided that my “Study Movies” will be about returning to the basics. A “Study Movie” is a movie that I play in the background while I study. That way, when I get to the exam I play the movie through my mind, and remember all of the topics I covered at certain points. It’s messed up system, but for some reason it works. This year’s Study Movies will be my most watched movies.

  • Fight Club(78)
  • The Shawshank Redemption (43)
  • Animal Crackers (27)
  • Mystery Science Theatre 3000: The Movie (19)
  • Vanilla Sky (28)
  • The Great Escape (17)

These aren’t my all-time favourite movies, they just always deliver goodness. These also aren’t my most watched movies, these are just the ones I own. I also chose to exclude The Matrix (50+), because I don’t really feel like getting into a Matrix frenzy and having to wait for the DVD trilogy to emerge, along with my DVD player. If you’re wondering how a person can watch a single movie that many times, it’s easier than you think. Especially, when you think of sleep as “something to do when there’s nothing good on TV.”
